There are over five horsemanship schools on the island. Horse riding is a big thing here. The horse is a very well respected animal and horsemanship is an integral part of the island’s history and culture.

Children are trained from very young ages in these riding schools. They have to decide early on which discipline they want to pursue: breaking, jumping, or harness racing etc…These are the main equestrian activities that you’ll find on the Balearic Islands.

Most weekends there are organised events in various municipalities throughout the island dedicated to individual horsemanship techniques.

You can go horse riding all year round on the Island. It’s as much fun in winter as it is in summer; it’s warm all year round and the landscape transforms dramatically throughout the seasons. It’s natural, environmentally friendly, one of the best ways to get to know the island, but most importantly, it’s great fun!
