Ibiza has some amazing beaches - some of the best in the Mediterranean. Most people think of Ibiza as just a party island, but there’s a lot more to it. The landscape and coastlines are fascinating; truly beautiful. Take a drive around the island and you’ll find out for yourself. There is every kind of beach imaginable.

If you are looking for quiet deserted beaches, head to the north of the island and check out Xarracca, Rencli de S'illot or Xuclar . Xarraca is a long sandy beach. It’s a bit out of the way but definitely well worth a visit. It’s the perfect getaway. Out of season, it becomes completely deserted.

Cala Vadella is a stunning bay. It’s very close to Es Vedra Island . During the summer months it gets very hot here as it’s closed off from the sea. The bay is suitable for windsurfing. There are plenty of restaurants and shops here. Access is good and scenery is breathtaking.

The sea here is beautiful; it can be incredibly calm and the waters are crystal clear. It’s a great place for snorkelling or scuba diving. If you want you can also hire jet skis or pedaloes. The restaurants are good. You can have a massage here or just chill out in one of the bars. You can also swim from the bay to Es Vedra Island. It’s a nice swim, tiring though. Make sure you’re a strong swimmer.

If you’re in San Antonio, take the boat trip to either Cala Conta or Cala Basa . These two beaches are excellent and the journey itself is beautiful. They’re great beaches for kids. The water is usually very calm and shallow. Cala Conta is the nicer beach but unfortunately the boat doesn’t go on Sundays.

Compared to some of the other beaches on the island, the ones around San Antonio town are not the best, but they still have a lot to offer. Sometimes it’s hard to get space on them. Try and get a space near to or in front of Itaca. It’s the perfect place to watch the sun go down. They serve very good food in the nearby Bar M and the prices are reasonable too. You can get two meals including a drink for under 15 euros.

Cala Salada beach is a popular choice with the locals. It gets very busy on Sundays and the restaurant is usually packed. It’s not that cheap but the standard is high.
